WHAT ARE STREAMS?
The large majority of files on a computer disk will contain only one stream. The data that you normally deal with in the file is kept in that stream. It is called the unnamed stream. But some files on NTFS volumes contain multiple streams.
The other streams are named, like this: "c:\mydir\myfile.txt:mystream".
These streams can contain additional data, such as version information, author information, hard links, etc.
